Aspen Youth Center maintains a safe, fun, youth-friendly facility that offers engaging quality programs to youth in grades 4 through 12 that will keep them coming back for more!

  • National data (Little, Wimer, and Weiss, 2008) clearly shows that the hours after school, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., offer opportunities for juvenile crime, sexual activity, and other risky behaviors such as drug and alcohol use.
  • Lack of adult supervision and participation in self-care for both children and adolescents have been linked to: increased likelihood of accidents and injuries, lower social competence, lower GPAs, and greater likelihood of participation in high risk activities such as experimentation with alcohol, tobacco, drugs and sex.

The clubs and activities we offer allow youth to interact with one another and experience positive, catalytic events within a supportive, mentored environment, thereby developing increased social skills and self-esteem. When children have adequate levels of confidence and self-esteem, the chances that they will form healthy relationships at home and at school greatly increase. This in turn, makes them better able to resist peer pressure to engage in risky behaviors. Additionally, children with higher self-esteem are more likely to develop a positive future sense of self, which is a strong indicator of whether or not an individual will be successful in life

Aspen Youth Center has an exceptional staff that is caring, thoughtful, and able to provide quality mentorship. Children who feel that they have caring adults in their lives feel better about themselves, make better choices, and have a higher chance of being happy and successful in life.

Although we are free, we ask that youth sign up as members of the Aspen Youth Center. To sign up please click here. For more information about our programs, please contact Brittany LaClair at brittany@aspenyouthcenter.org.
