Meet Brian

We’re thrilled to welcome Brian Zubek as our new Executive Director at Aspen Youth Center.

Brian is a mission-driven leader with decades of experience guiding youth and family service organizations through growth, transformation, and leadership transitions. He officially joins AYC on August 18.

After nearly fifteen years in government procurement, Brian followed his passion for nonprofit work—launching successful foundations and guiding organizations nationwide as an interim executive, change management consultant, and leadership coach. His work has focused on helping teams navigate complex transitions while building strong internal systems, deepening community impact, and sustaining long-term growth.

Brian brings to AYC a remarkable blend of strategic vision, operational experience, and heart. As Executive Director and COO of a community church, he increased membership by 20% and donor support by over 80%. He also led a large-scale COVID-19 response effort with Johns Hopkins Hospital, ensuring thousands of underserved individuals in Baltimore City received testing and vaccinations.

His lived experience as a foster parent and longtime advocate for young people makes him uniquely attuned to the importance of safe, inclusive spaces where kids can thrive.

AYC’s board president Andrew Reed shared, “As we deepen our commitment to Positive Youth Development and expand our community partnerships, Brian’s thoughtful leadership and track record of impact make him an exciting and natural fit for this next chapter.”

Brian added: “I’m honored to join the Aspen Youth Center. I’ve seen firsthand how safe spaces, caring adults, and meaningful programs can change the trajectory of a child’s life. AYC has a legacy of creating those moments for young people, and I’m excited to help build what’s next.”

Please join us in welcoming Brian to the AYC family! We’re so excited for what’s ahead.
